Help shape the future of parks, playgrounds, sporting facilities, trails and open spaces across the Gympie region.

Share your ideas and feedback as part of Council's new Open Space and Recreation Strategy.

Gympie Regional Council is developing a new Open Space and Recreation Strategy to guide the future of parks, open spaces, recreation facilities and sporting areas across the region for the next 10 years.

Whether you play sport, visit parks, walk the dog, use local trails, enjoy our natural areas, or simply want great recreation opportunities for the future, your feedback matters.

Tell us what's working well, what could be improved and what you'd like to see in the years ahead for the Gympie region.

We want to hear from you!
Complete the online survey to share your feedback and ideas by Sunday 23 August 2026.

Why we are engaging
We want to hear how you use and value open spaces, sport and recreation across the region to shape their future, including:

  • How you use parks and recreation facilities
  • What is important to you
  • Any barriers you experience
  • Where future improvements should be prioritised

What happens next
Once the survey closes, Council will review the feedback and use it, alongside information about existing facilities, population growth and participation, to help plan future improvements and investment.

We encourage you to follow this page to stay up to date on the project including when the engagement summary will be available for viewing.
