FAQs - Nelson Reserve Concept Plan
Why is Council seeking feedback on Nelson Reserve?
Council is planning for the future of Nelson Reserve. This is a chance to hear how people use the space, what they value about it, what could be improved and what should be considered as planning progresses.
What is the Nelson Reserve Concept Plan?
The Concept Plan is a high-level plan for the wider reserve. It will help set a clearer direction for future improvements over time, rather than upgrades being delivered in a piecemeal way.
Why are we asking about both Nelson Reserve and the playground at the same time?
The playground is an important part of Nelson Reserve, so it makes sense to look at both together. While the playground renewal is the more immediate piece of work, this is also a chance to understand how people use the wider reserve, what they value and what should be considered in future planning.
Does this feedback include other parts of Nelson Reserve, like the youth precinct or skate park?
Yes. While the immediate focus of this project is the Apex playground renewal, Council is also gathering feedback to help inform a broader Concept Plan for Nelson Reserve. This means all feedback is welcome, including ideas about other parts of the reserve, as it will help inform future planning for the space over time.
Does this mean the whole reserve is going to change?
This process is about understanding what people value, what may need improvement and what should be considered over time. Any future changes would be subject to further planning, design, budget and approvals.
What sort of feedback is Council looking for?
We want to hear how people use the reserve, what they value most, what is working well, what could be improved and what should be considered in the future.
How will feedback be used?
Feedback gathered through this process will help inform the Concept Plan for the wider Nelson Reserve precinct, as well as future priorities for the space.
