Update: May 2026 - Construction works to commence

Construction works for the Civic Centre Renewal Project are expected to start from Monday 18 May 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.

This is an exciting step forward for the project which is focused on upgrading the existing Civic Centre to improve safety, accessibility, functionality and the overall visitor experience.

The works will include upgrades to building services, accessibility and compliance requirements, internal spaces and amenities, and improvements to support the technical and operational needs of the venue.

During construction, there will be some changes around the site, including increased truck and construction vehicle movements and changes to parking arrangements. Traffic management and signage will be in place when required, and Council will continue to keep the community informed as works progress.
